ARM microprocessor

Architecture ARM (Advanced RISC Machine, Acorn RISC Machine, advanced RISC-machine) - a family of licensable 32-bit and 64-bit microprocessor cores development of ARM Limited. 

Among the licensees: AMD, Apple, Analog Devices, Atmel, Xilinx, Altera, Cirrus Logic (Eng.), Intel (up to June 27, 2006), Marvell (Eng.), NXP, STMicroelectronics, Samsung, LG, MediaTek, MStar, Qualcomm, Sony, Texas Instruments, nVidia, Freescale, Milandr, HiSilicon. 

Important family of processors: ARM7, ARM9, ARM11 and Cortex. 

Many licensees make their own versions of cores based on ARM: DEC StrongARM, Freescale i.MX, Intel XScale, NVIDIA Tegra, ST-Ericsson Nomadik, Krait in Qualcomm Snapdragon, Texas Instruments OMAP, Samsung Hummingbird, LG H13, Apple A6 and HiSilicon K3.
